Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in Ireland entirely with local session musicians, this would tragically serve as the legendary Texan songwriter's final studio album before his death in 1997. The arrangements veer slightly into slicker, folk-rock territory, but Van Zandt's poetic, world-weary lyricism and fragile vocal delivery remain devastatingly potent.
