Album Notes & Community Reviews
Serving as a massive critical and commercial comeback, Tracy Chapman's 'New Beginning' utilizes remarkably warm, sparse acoustic production to highlight her distinctive vibrato and storytelling prowess. Stripping away the heavier synthesizers of her previous records, the album returned her strictly to earthy folk-rock and acoustic blues influences. Propelled heavily by the massive, blues-tinged hit single 'Give Me One Reason', the album went on to achieve multi-platinum status globally.
