The Crusade
by Trivium
Taking a drastic stylistic turn, the Florida outfit heavily embraced 1980s thrash metal, largely abandoning screamed vocals for a cleaner, James Hetfield-inspired delivery. While commercially successful, the abrupt shift away from pure metalcore polarized their existing fanbase and sparked immense debate within the metal community. It showcased a significant evolution in their technical guitar work.
