Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'Fairyland Codex', the band navigates a genre-blending trajectory that veers from noise rock shredders and disco-inspired dance numbers to tender, acoustic-led ballads. Co-produced at their own studio, the album's dense arrangements are built upon kinetic basslines and frenetic drumming, creating a sound that balances overwhelming chaotic passages with moments of melodic serenity. Gareth Liddiard's percussive, syncopated vocal delivery explores lyrical themes of societal decline and propaganda, often interspersed with the signature harmonized backing of Fiona Kitschin and Erica Dunn.
