Gary Numan skyrocketed to fame by successfully grafting the icy precision of the Minimoog synthesizer onto a jagged, guitar-driven post-punk foundation. Highly influenced by Philip K. Dick, 'Replicas' is a remarkably cold, deeply ominous, and heavily mechanical concept album that perfectly captures the paranoid, futuristic dread of science-fiction alienation.
