Album Notes & Community Reviews

Reinvigorated by extensive vocal training and a renewed collaborative spark, Merrill Garbus and Nate Brenner crafted a highly athletic, vibrant fifth album. The record dials back their previous digital stiffness, bringing back the wildly energetic, highly syncopated basslines and prominent horn sections of their early work. Thematically, it dissects modern political anxieties and complicity while remaining incredibly buoyant and danceable.
