Album Notes & Community Reviews

Deliberately shedding the prominent orchestral bombast and overt folk-metal trappings of their earlier work, 'Turisas2013' sees the Finnish collective pivoting towards a more streamlined, guitar-driven hard rock and heavy metal sound. The self-produced record features tighter song structures, a cleaner mix, and a noticeable reduction of their signature symphonic layers. This stark stylistic departure divided their established fanbase while attempting to modernize their epic, battle-ready aesthetic.
