Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released independently to moderate initial reception, the Los Angeles group's debut gradually evolved into a massive, culturally defining cult classic through online platforms like TikTok. Brad Petering brilliantly splices obscure 1960s pop and soul samples into woozy, hip-hop-inflected beats, supporting his uniquely deadpan, cynical lyricism concerning failed romances. The album flawlessly captures the hazy, bittersweet essence of Californian indie-pop.
