The album's vibrant, synth-driven aesthetic serves as a facade for the band's ongoing narrative about the oppressive city of Dema, with lyrics that continue to explore themes of anxiety and creative struggle. Its title is an anagram of 'Clancy is dead,' a reference to the protagonist of their previous album, 'Trench'.
