Released at the absolute zenith of their MTV-fueled notoriety, this fourth studio album attempted to capitalize on the massive multi-platinum success of its predecessor. 'Come Out and Play' heavily features slick, anthemic pop-metal hooks and notably boasts guest appearances from rock legends Alice Cooper and Brian Setzer. However, an oversaturated media presence and the intense scrutiny of the PMRC congressional hearings caused the record to critically and commercially underperform expectations.
