Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'Possession,' his sixteenth solo LP, Ty Segall returns to a more accessible and melodic sound, reminiscent of his earlier work but with an expanded sonic palette. The album moves away from dense experimentation towards tight, '60s-inflected pop structures, blending garage rock energy with lush string and brass arrangements. Collaborating lyrically with filmmaker Matt Yoka, Segall embraces a storyteller role, crafting a sonically adventurous and melodically satisfying journey through the underbelly of modern America.
