Album Notes & Community Reviews
'Flower Boy' marks a significant maturation in Tyler, The Creator's artistry, departing from the abrasive shock value of earlier works for a more personal and introspective tone. The self-produced album blends hip-hop with lush neo-soul and jazz-rap arrangements, featuring kaleidoscopic synths and prominent guitar work. Lyrically, it explores themes of loneliness, love, and sexuality with newfound vulnerability, all while maintaining a rich, layered sound supported by a host of collaborators including Frank Ocean, Kali Uchis, and Estelle.
