Album Notes & Community Reviews
The Battles frontman steps away from experimental rock to present a staggering work of maximalist, modern orchestral composition. Utilizing kazoos, synthesizers, and a full symphony orchestra, the music is a dense, playful collision of Stravinsky-esque classical structures and avant-garde loop manipulations. It was critically lauded for its dizzying complexity and wildly inventive textural arrangements.
