Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring the iconic, politically charged single 'Dancing with Tears in My Eyes', 'Lament' sees the Midge Ure-led lineup refining their synth-heavy melancholia. The production favors expansive, cinematic soundscapes over angular post-punk tendencies, dealing heavily with themes of romantic longing and Cold War anxieties. It stands as one of the final major commercial successes for the band before their gradual decline in the late 80s.
