Album Notes & Community Reviews
Ulver's debut album and the first part of their black metal trilogy, recorded in Oslo across November and December 1994. Its five chapters alternate buzzing black metal with acoustic folk passages, and the archaic Dano-Norwegian lyrics draw on Scandinavian folktales and the Baroque poets Ludvig Holberg and Thomas Kingo.
