Album Notes & Community Reviews

Long before achieving massive mainstream success with their post-hardcore sound, Underoath's debut was a strikingly raw, unpolished exercise in extreme metal[cite: 1]. 'Act of Depression' awkwardly but passionately attempts to fuse punishing death metal breakdowns, harsh shrieks, and surprisingly overt melodic black metal influences with overtly Christian lyricism[cite: 1].
