Alt

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Comprised entirely of instrumental, spontaneous studio jams recorded during the sessions for their previous album, 'Alt' represents a radical departure from the progressive rock legends' typical structured grandeur. The record frequently eschews standard melody and rhythm in favor of abstract sonic textures, heavily featuring Peter Hammill's aggressive keyboard work and uncharacteristic electric guitar noise. It stands as an unexpectedly challenging and purely avant-garde exercise from the veteran trio.
