Album Notes & Community Reviews

Continuing his fascination with Caribbean musical forms, Van Dyke Parks' 'Clang of the Yankee Reaper' surrounds classic calypso covers and original material with lush, highly eccentric orchestration. Despite the cheerful, optimistic steel band arrangements, the record retains Parks's trademark playful yet sentimental pop sensibility.
