Album Notes & Community Reviews

Featuring guest appearances from legendary R&B figures like John Lee Hooker and Jimmy Witherspoon, this spirited double album highlights the singer's deep roots in blues and soul traditions. The performances are characterized by rapid-fire medleys and a fiercely tight horn section that drives the improvisational energy. It brilliantly captures the artist in a joyous, heavily band-oriented setting rather than solitary introspection.
