Written largely during a restorative trip back to Ireland following a painful divorce, Van Morrison's 'Veedon Fleece' is a staggeringly gorgeous, highly overlooked acoustic companion to 'Astral Weeks'. The album is wonderfully pastoral and deeply warm, utilizing beautifully lush chamber-folk instrumentation to convey intensely poetic, wonderfully melancholic expressions of profound Celtic longing.
