Album Notes & Community Reviews
Led by the prolific Chicago saxophonist Ken Vandermark, the quintet delivered an incredibly robust, highly dynamic jazz recording with 'Simpatico'[cite: 1]. The album frequently oscillates between highly structured, rhythmic post-bop arrangements and fiercely aggressive, intensely dissonant free jazz improvisation[cite: 1].
