Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded in various unpolished settings, 'About to Choke' strips away studio artifice to center directly on Chesnutt's distinctive vocal quiver and acoustic guitar playing. The major-label debut miraculously maintains his independent spirit, offering poignant, darkly humorous observations through masterful southern-gothic storytelling.
