Album Notes & Community Reviews

A classic of 90s alternative country, 'Is the Actor Happy?' is a beautiful and deeply melancholic album from the legendary songwriter. The record showcases Vic Chesnutt's incredible gift for storytelling, blending his quirky, southern-gothic narratives with a sparse and patient musical backdrop that draws from Americana and slowcore. It's a witty, sad, and profoundly human work from a true original.
