Album Notes & Community Reviews
A landmark collaboration between the acclaimed Georgia songwriter and a large ensemble of Montreal musicians, including members of Thee Silver Mt. Zion and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. 'North Star Deserter' balances Chesnutt's intimate, often devastating lyricism with massive, orchestral post-rock crescendos. The resulting record is one of the most powerful and critically lauded entries in his discography, captured with a raw, visceral production style.
