Album Notes & Community Reviews

Once again produced by R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, the Athens songwriter's sophomore album expands his rustic acoustic sound with subtle, melancholic instrumentation. The intensely poignant lyricism grapples with physical disability, alcoholism, and deep emotional isolation, solidifying his reputation as a devastatingly insightful voice in modern Americana.
