Album Notes & Community Reviews

The critically acclaimed jazz pianist completely departs from his traditional trio format, presenting a remarkably complex, entirely composed suite for piano, string quartet, and subtle electronics. 'Mutations' explores incredibly intricate, highly mathematical post-minimalist structures that are flawlessly executed by the musicians. The record is a profoundly cerebral, deeply beautiful, and fiercely avant-garde masterclass in modern chamber music.
