Guaraldi recorded 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' at Whitney Studio in Glendale and at Fantasy Studios in San Francisco, with bassist Fred Marshall, drummer Jerry Granelli and a children's choir from St. Paul's Episcopal Church in San Rafael. The programme pairs his originals 'Linus and Lucy' and 'Christmas Time Is Here' with carols including 'O Tannenbaum', and the album was inducted into both the Grammy Hall of Fame and the National Recording Registry.
