Album Notes & Community Reviews

The debut mixtape from Vince Staples, 'Shyne Coldchain Vol. 1' immediately established his distinct voice and bleak worldview. Released with the support of Odd Future, the project is a dark and atmospheric collection of tracks that chronicle life in Long Beach with a conscious yet misanthropic perspective. Its blend of traditional West Coast sounds, ominous production, and Staples' lethargic, precise flow marked the arrival of a major new talent.
