The conceptual album on which Andreas Hedlund and guitarist Mattias Marklund organized their songs around scientific and metaphysical themes, 'The Focusing Blur' pairs the duo with session players Steve DiGiorgio on bass and Asgeir Mickelson on drums. Solefald's Lars "Lazare" Nedland contributes narration and Hammond on "Star Puzzled"; the twelve tracks were recorded across three studios between 2002 and 2003, mixed at TopRoom Studio in September 2003 and mastered at Masterhuset.
