Album Notes & Community Reviews

Attempting to recapture the stripped-down, nervous energy of their highly influential 1980s output, the Wisconsin trio returns to their core acoustic instrumentation. 'Freak Magnet' relies heavily on Gordon Gano's anxious vocal delivery and acoustic strumming, backed by Brian Ritchie's signature acoustic bass guitar. However, the record struggled to resonate with audiences, becoming their lowest-charting release of the era.
