The Russian composer merges his distinct post-minimalist structural approach with ancient, pagan-rooted Slavic folk traditions. 'Night in Galicia' is a hypnotic, highly ritualistic work featuring the piercing, dissonant 'white voice' singing technique of the Pokrovsky Ensemble layered over cyclical, avant-garde chamber instrumentation.
