Recorded on a meager budget and self-released through their own label, this debut from the Texas quartet is widely considered a foundational pillar of progressive and technical metal. 'Energetic Disassembly' completely fragmented standard thrash structures, implementing dizzying time signature changes, chaotic jazz-inspired basslines, and shrieking vocals. Its labyrinthine composition heavily influenced an entire generation of technically minded extreme metal musicians.
