Bleeds
by Wednesday
On 'Bleeds', Wednesday partners again with producer Alex Farrar, further refining the band's signature blend of shoegaze, alt-country, and noise rock into a cohesive sound frontwoman Karly Hartzman has dubbed "Wednesday Creek Rock". The album’s narrative songwriting, described as having a "southern gothic attitude," unflinchingly explores themes of loss and violence while simultaneously offering intimate glimpses into the dissolution of a romantic relationship within the band. These visceral narratives are supported by the dynamic instrumental work of the full band, including the studio contributions of guitarist MJ Lenderman and the integration of bassist Ethan Baechtold, solidifying the album's varied and emotionally resonant texture.
