Album Notes & Community Reviews
On "Estoy viviendo", the enigmatic producer weed420 conducts a hauntological dialogue with the legacy of salsa legend Ismael Quintana. The album acts as a sonic palimpsest, built from ghostly fragments of Quintana鈥檚 1976 recordings, his iconic voice refracted through a prism of granular synthesis and decaying digital artifacts. Piano montunos and brass stabs dissolve into ambient static and deep sub-bass, deconstructing the vibrant energy of Fania-era salsa into a spectral meditation on memory, cultural resonance, and the disquieting persistence of sound across time, reanimating the past for a fractured future.
