Album Notes & Community Reviews

Privately pressed and fiercely independent, 'Liberated Brother' marks the solo emergence of the gifted composer and keyboardist following his tenure as Nina Simone's bandleader. The music weaves complex, uplifting jazz-funk with deep elements of spiritual consciousness and Latin rhythm. This eclectic, politically aware debut laid the vital groundwork for a legendary discography heavily revered by later hip-hop producers.
