Album Notes & Community Reviews

Orchestrated by Don Sebesky and produced by Creed Taylor, 'California Dreaming' captures Wes Montgomery at the height of his pop-jazz crossover phase. Supported by an all-star ensemble including Herbie Hancock, Montgomery's signature octave playing glides effortlessly over heavily arranged contemporary pop hits and bossa nova rhythms. The album exemplifies the lush, commercial sound that characterized his highly successful late-career output.
