Album Notes & Community Reviews
Released posthumously after the guitarist's sudden death, this album serves as the final statement in his immensely popular orchestrated pop-jazz phase. 'Road Song' once again utilizes Don Sebesky's lush string and woodwind arrangements to support Montgomery's impeccable octave playing on a mix of contemporary covers and originals. The bittersweet recording cements his legacy as a titan who effortlessly bridged serious jazz and commercial pop.
