Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Pray for Paris' solidifies Westside Gunn's aesthetic of high-fashion, grimey hip-hop, blending his signature ad-lib-driven delivery with a rich tapestry of production from The Alchemist, DJ Premier, and Daringer. The album's central theme juxtaposes street-level grit with couture opulence, a duality reinforced by a curated guest list including Tyler, the Creator, Wale, and Freddie Gibbs alongside his Griselda cohorts. Its synthesis of soulful, sample-heavy loops, hard-hitting bars, and Gunn's distinct artistic vision marked it as a significant and accessible release in the modern East Coast underground.
