Operating as the primary recording project of Tim Presley, this release constitutes the first half of a sprawling, deeply anachronistic double album. Recorded entirely on analog tape equipment in his Los Angeles bedroom, the album channels a lo-fi, 1960s aesthetic heavily indebted to Syd Barrett and The Kinks. It stands as a defining document of the early 2010s garage-psych revival, characterized by heavily distorted fuzz guitars and hazy, melancholic pop melodies.
