Album Notes & Community Reviews

Finding immense critical and commercial success in Europe after relocating from the United States, the former Mink DeVille frontman fully embraced his eclectic roots. 'Backstreets of Desire' incorporates a potent mix of New Orleans R&B, Latin percussion, and gritty heartland rock. The album famously features a radically reworked, mariachi-style cover of Jimi Hendrix's 'Hey Joe', which became a massive hit across the continent.
