Intended as a return to a harder-edged rock aesthetic, Paul McCartney's band enlisted a slightly revamped lineup for their final studio album. The production touches upon burgeoning new wave and punk trends, notably featuring the massive 'Rockestra' supergroup gathering on two tracks. Despite its eclectic ambition, mixed critical reception and internal tensions led to the group's dissolution shortly after its release.
