Album Notes & Community Reviews
Ending an extended hiatus, Wire returned with a heavily modernized, sequencer-driven sound that completely abandoned traditional punk rock instrumentation. 'The Ideal Copy' utilizes cold, clinical synthesizers and programmed drum machines to support highly abstract, cryptic lyrical structures. It is a surreal, remarkably avant-garde pivot into alternative dance and art-pop.
