Pilgrimage

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On their sophomore release, the British quartet refined their signature dual-lead guitar attack, intertwining folk melodies and jazz-inflected improvisations with muscular hard rock. The record is entirely devoid of keyboards, relying strictly on the highly melodic, intricate interplay between Andy Powell and Ted Turner. It successfully bridged the gap between heavy blues roots and an increasingly sophisticated progressive aesthetic.
