The highly anticipated sophomore effort by the Canadian indie-rock stalwarts relies far less on chaotic punk energy and heavily integrates complex, progressive song structures. Dan Boeckner and Spencer Krug's distinct, dueling songwriting styles are fleshed out with dense analog synthesizers, culminating in the sprawling, ten-minute climax 'Kissing the Beehive'. It proved that their acclaimed debut was not a fluke.
