Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highlighting the legendary British clarinettist's famously warm, expressive tone, this recording presents a deeply romanticized reading of Mozart's final instrumental masterpiece. Reginald Kell's use of subtle vibrato鈥攁 controversial technique at the time鈥攊mbues the concerto with an unprecedented lyrical sweetness. It remains a highly influential, deeply musical interpretation of the classical staple.
