Credited to Wolfgang Ambros with Manfred Tauchen and Joesi Prokopetz, this concept album tells of the Watzmann, the mountain that calls climbers to their deaths, and of the Gailtalerin who tries to save them. Its authors called the piece a Rustical, a rustic musical, and it later grew into a stage production performed for decades. Produced by Tauchen, it stands as a founding document of Austropop.
