Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Tuvan ensemble led by Albert Kuvezin radically modernized traditional throat singing by fusing it with the raw, rhythmic energy of punk and psychedelic folk. The remarkably deep, guttural Kargyraa vocal technique is perfectly complemented by driving acoustic guitars and traditional Central Asian instrumentation. The groundbreaking recording essentially introduced the concept of Tuvan folk-rock to a global audience.
