Album Notes & Community Reviews
Following his departure from Depeche Mode, Vince Clarke teamed up with powerhouse vocalist Alison Moyet to create this profoundly influential synth-pop debut. 'Upstairs at Eric's' brilliantly contrasts Clarke's remarkably cold, heavily rhythmic, and minimalistic electronic arrangements with Moyet's warm, deeply passionate blues phrasing, resulting in beautifully bittersweet, highly romantic dance music.
