Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following her massive international breakthrough, the Peruvian soprano delivers another cinematic suite of Hollywood-crafted Andean mythology. Les Baxter's arrangements provide a sweeping, heavily orchestrated backdrop for Yma Sumac's staggering, multi-octave vocal acrobatics. 'Legend of the Sun Virgin' is a definitive, highly dramatic pillar of the emerging 1950s Exotica movement.
