Album Notes & Community Reviews

Despite its politically charged title, taken from the Sly & the Family Stone classic, this album is one of Yo La Tengo's most tranquil and meditative works. 'There's a Riot Going On' is a hazy, atmospheric drift through ambient pop, dreamy textures, and subtle psychedelic flourishes. Created from improvisational sessions in their practice space, it's a warm, lush, and hypnotic record that serves as a calm, soothing response to a chaotic world.
